For this painting I used some techniques that I hadn't used for quite awhile. Gel was mixed with acrylic paint and using my fingers I created a very textured surface over the top third of the painting. It gives the effect of something erupting. I dripped watered paint down from the clusters and using a q-tip I dabbed the paint on to create the effect of fallen debris from the clusters. My final step was to add gold and silver leaf to give the painting a more dramatic effect. This painting could be the eruption of a volcano but to me it is the discovery of COVID vaccines in the fight against the virus.
