Staying away from our normal lives and living through this pandemic has put many of us through multiple struggles, challenges and changes. Starting from the news we watch every day to stories we hear from close ones puts us in this position where we hope for better days. For this year, the theme for ‘ARTSIDEOUT’ was ‘Endurance’. My art piece is a visual illustration of everyone around the world coming together for one big cause. A painting technique I tried for the first time was photo transfer using acrylic paint for the world map in the center. My painting consists of hands from all races holding objects or symbols that represent Covid-19 as well as the title of my art piece. The hands in the painting all point towards the world map in the middle demonstrating the ability we have as a nation to resist and recover from this world-wide pandemic together.
