"Don't Touch" was created using an app named Sketchbook Pro and I was inspired by my own experience. As an African female student, studying in an international school, my hair is often the center of attention. This work intent to show another aspect of my identity, my hair. My inspiration was my experience with people around me always commenting, touching, and manipulating my hair because they find it “fascinating” and “different”. The vibrant flowers represent a flower crown and the glory and power they have, similarly to an afro.
